Sound Familiar?

You Already Know What Turnover Costs.

Monday, 9:05 AM

Your sous chef gives two weeks' notice. You're back on the line.

Saturday, 4:30 PM

The cook you hired Tuesday doesn't show for his first weekend.

End of the month

Overtime covered the gaps. It also ate the margin.

Next season

The menu got a little simpler every time someone walked out.

That isn’t bad luck, and it isn’t a hiring problem. It’s a supply problem. There aren’t enough prepared cooks to go around, and posting the same job faster doesn’t make more of them.

We do.

Serving Employers Across Virginia

Whether you’re in Richmond, Northern Virginia, Hampton Roads, the Shenandoah Valley, or Southwest Virginia, the operators I talk to are fighting the same three battles: keeping good people, training them to your standard, and finding the next ones when they leave. We work with more than 200 employers across the state, from country clubs and resorts to hotels, casinos, and restaurants, to take on all three.

From One Kitchen to Another

I Ran Kitchens Before I Built This.

Before Culinary Concepts AB, I was the chef running kitchens. I’ve covered the empty station, trained a new hire in the middle of a Friday rush, and watched good cooks walk out because nobody had time to teach them.

I built CCAB because I kept seeing the same problem from two sides: operators who couldn’t keep a kitchen staffed, and people who wanted the work but never got a real shot. It’s one problem. We solve it from both ends.

Invest in Your Team

Two Ways to Develop Your Cooks.

Now Enrolling · Few Seats Left

Sponsor Your Cooks

Enroll one to three cooks in our next Richmond training program at The Kitchens at Reynolds. They gain hands-on skills, industry credentials, and the professional habits to grow with you.

On-Site or in Our Kitchens

Build a Program for Your Property

We take your menu, your standards, and your team, and build a training program around them, developing skills beyond the station so your cooks grow with your company.

Plan Your Program

Not sure which fits your team? Call (434) 218-2637.

Strengthen Your Team

Keep the Cooks You've Already Got.

Losing a sous chef costs more than losing a line cook. Training stops, standards drift, and the rest of the team starts looking. We help you protect the bench you have while you build the one you need.

We come into your operation and put a real number on what turnover and inconsistency are costing you, then show you where to start.

Access Untapped Talent

Trained, Certified, and Ready for Your Line.

We’re not recruiters. We’re connectors. Years of partnerships with workforce boards, schools, community organizations, and reentry programs give us access to talent the open market never sees. We train that talent in a real kitchen and connect it to operators who need it.

From workforce need to workforce ready: five steps. Employer need, recruit and screen, train and develop, connect and hire, support and advance.

What we handle

  • Training and development for your current team, from line cooks to kitchen leaders
  • Access to untapped talent pipelines through workforce boards, schools, community organizations, and reentry programs
  • Screening every candidate for readiness, motivation, and fit
  • Seven weeks and 130+ hours of hands-on training in a professional kitchen
  • ServSafe and AHLEI Certified Kitchen Cook credentials
  • Professional skills: communication under pressure, teamwork, and accountability
  • Support after the hire, with check-ins at 30, 60, 90, and 180 days

What you do

  • Tell us your menu, your standards, and the roles you need to fill
  • Meet candidates at our live pop-up restaurant and through job trials
  • Hire the cooks who fit your kitchen
  • Tell us how it’s going, so the next cohort is even better prepared for you

That’s it. No sorting through stacks of résumés, and no starting from zero every time a station opens up.

Who You'll Meet

The Cooks Who Never Made It to Your Job Board.

Career changers. Young people starting out. Parents heading back to work. People ready for a second chance. They aren’t scrolling job sites. They reach us through the organizations they already trust, and every one of them finished a demanding program to get to your kitchen door.

That’s the hardest thing to screen for in an interview, and they’ve already shown it: they show up, again and again, when it’s hard.

Workforce Solutions FAQs

Do you work with employers outside Richmond and Charlottesville?

What workforce challenges do you help Virginia employers solve?

Whether you’re in Richmond, Northern Virginia, Hampton Roads, the Shenandoah Valley, or Southwest Virginia, the operators we talk to are fighting the same three battles: keeping good people, training them to your standard, and finding the next ones when they leave. We work with more than 200 employers across the state, from country clubs and resorts to hotels, casinos, and restaurants, to take on all three.

Can you train our team at our location?

Yes, as long as your kitchen meets our basic training standards. We never require you to provide training space, but training on your own line means your team learns on the equipment and menu they use every day.

Are you a staffing agency?

No. We’re not recruiters. We’re connectors. We start by training and developing the team you already have, and when you need more people, we connect you to prepared talent from workforce boards, schools, community organizations, and reentry programs.

What kinds of employers do you work with?

Restaurants and restaurant groups, hotels and resorts, country clubs, casinos, and institutional and corporate kitchens. Our network includes 200+ employer partners across Virginia.

Can you meet special hiring requirements, like age minimums?

Yes. For roles with specific requirements, such as casino positions that require candidates to be 21 or older, your HR team interviews and approves candidates first. We then train them before their employment begins.
