A FREE COMMUNITY WATCH PARTY NOVEMBER 15
LOCAL BUSINESS OWNER ANTWON BRINSON FEATURED ON “THE BIG BRUNCH” HBO MAX COOKING SHOW WILL HOST A FREE COMMUNITY WATCH PARTY ON NOVEMBER 15
Antwon Brinson, Founder and CEO of Culinary Concepts AB will be featured on a new HBO Max cooking show called “The Big Brunch.”
The community watch party builds on the excitement around the show to bring the community into the fold by creating space for conversations around Chef Brinson’s network: spanning local government, workforce and non-profits focusing on improving lives. The event will start with four dynamic community leaders who are using their platform to create space for change:
Juan Diego Wade, Vice Mayor, Charlottesville City
Ravi Respeto, President & CEO, United Way of Greater Charlottesville
Eboni Bugg, Director of Programs, Charlottesville Area Community Foundation
Sarah Morton, Workforce Development Director, Virginia Career Works
“My goal with this event is to ignite real change in this community to improve lives through the connectivity created at this event. I am inviting changemakers to come to the table to dedicate themselves to solving our community’s equity issues through a commitment of collaboration and dedication.”
Culinary Concepts AB’s (CCAB) mission is to empower people and build communities in the kitchen. Its work creates space for people to connect, develop their skills, and grow through food. Culinary Concepts AB works with public and private organizations to develop custom programs that leverage the culinary arts to teach occupational and life-changing soft skills. Through this lens, CCAB helps individuals and teams understand the contribution needed to build a future for themselves and establish strong relationships around them.
Following that mission and in celebration of the new series, CCAB, the Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitors Bureau and award-winning Discover Black Cville will host a watch party for the first episode on November 15 at Vinegar Hill Theater. Starting at 5:30, Chef Brinson will moderate the panel of local changemakers. Just as Culinary Concepts creates space for connection, growth, and success in the kitchen, this panel is laying the stage to create space for connection, growth, and success in our community. After the showing, the audience will be able to ask questions in a live Q&A and join the panelists in moving their collaboration forward.
Chef Brinson and the participating panelists commit to meeting monthly after this initial event to ensure that their organizations and networks continue to focus on collaboration and making substantial change in the community. We hope you’ll join us in creating space.
